Graduates are now racing in Formula One, IndyCar, top-line GT racing, and moving up the single-seater ladder. Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award

The GB3 Championship has an outstanding record of success in the Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award. The following drivers have won the prize, one of the biggest in world motorsport, in the same year in which they competed in the championship:

George Russell - 2014

George Russell

After winning the BRDC F4 title in 2014, Russell followed that up by claiming the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award a few weeks later.

Will Palmer - 2015

Will Palmer

Palmer dominated the 2015 BRDC F4 Championship, and was the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award winner in the same year.

Lando Norris - 2016

Lando Norris

Norris won four BRDC British F3 races in 2016, and became the third driver from the championship to claim the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award. He became an Academy driver for the team shortly afterwards.

Tom Gamble - 2018

Tom Gamble

After graduating from Ginetta Junior, Gamble's BRDC British F3 season netted two wins and five further podiums. After winning the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award, he's become one of the UK's top sports car contenders.

Johnathan Hoggard - 2019

Johnathan Hoggard

After taking the BRDC British F3 title battle all the way to the wire, Hoggard claimed the Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award, before graduating to FIA F3.

Zak O'Sullivan - 2021

Zak O'Sullivan

O'Sullivan dominated the 2021 GB3 Championship, and became the latest winner of the Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award at the start of 2022.

Luke Browning - 2022

Luke Browning

After winning the 2022 GB3 Championship, Browning impressed the judges for the Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award, and received his trophy from four-time F1 champion Sebastian Vettel.

Joseph Loake - 2023

Joseph Loake

After winning four races and coming close to taking the GB3 title, Loake won the 2023 Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award.
