JHR Developments has confirmed that 2021 British F4 champion Matthew Rees will remain with the team for the upcoming season, as he steps up to the GB3 Championship partnered by the BRDC.
The 16-year-old Welsh racer joined the multiple title-winning outfit last year and demonstrated why he is one of the UK’s top motorsport talents by claiming a superb double of the Driver’s and Rookie titles, while JHR Developments took the Team’s honours.
Matthew took pole position for the first five races in 2021, adding four race wins and a further seven podiums to finish the year 25 points clear of his next closest rival. He also picked up a Rising Star award from the BRDC, and is part of the Elite Cymru Sports Programme for top athletes in Wales.
Rees will commence a winter testing programme with the team as they get to grips with the new Tatuus MSV-022 chassis, which features the halo safety device, increased downforce, and an increase in power to 250bhp.
