South African youngster Jarrod Waberski has been confirmed as Fortec Motorsport's second signing for the 2023 GB3 Championship.
The 17-year-old from Guateng was one of the stars of the inaugural GB4 Championship season, finishing second overall behind Nikolas Taylor, who took the title for Fortec.
Despite only confirming his place on the grid in the week leading up to the opening round, Waberski won four races in total, including a sensational double at the final round of the season at Donington Park, as well as triumphs at Oulton Park and Snetterton.
Ten other podiums ensured he claimed the runner-up spot in the championship standings, in his first season of competition outside of South Africa.
Prior to GB4, Waberski had been one of the leading contenders in his homeland, winning several races in the Formula 1600 Championship across two seasons, and finishing as the runner-up in 2021.
His karting career was just as impressive, winning regional championships in 2013, 2017 and 2018, plus the South African title in 2018.
He now focuses on a GB3 move, and has already enjoyed several days behind the wheel of the Tatuus MSV-022 in winter testing.
