Xcel Motorsport has confirmed that Dion Gowda will participate in selected rounds of this year’s GB3 Championship. 

The 17-year-old Indian driver will join the squad for the rounds at the Silverstone (April), Spa-Francorchamps and Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuits, as he balances his GB3 outings with a full-season campaign in FRECA.

A proven talent, Dion was a mutliple race winner in the 2023 British F4 Championship and has since gained valuable experience competing across Europe in the Italian F4 Championship. 

His return to the British single-seater scene will come alongside Xcel’s previously confirmed full-time drivers Jack Sherwood and Patrick Heuzenroeder.

Gowda gained his first experience of the new Tatuus MSV GB3-025 car in testing at Silverstone earlier this week, and finished inside the top-10 on his first day.
