Voisin inducted into BRDC Rising Stars programme

08 September 2022

Carlin’s Callum Voisin has been inducted into the BRDC Rising Stars programme, after some superb performances in the GB3 Championship so far in 2022.

The 16-year-old has won races at Donington Park and Snetterton, and took three successive podiums across the recent Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone events, with two of those being potential victories had circumstances fallen his way.

Voisin sits third in the championship standings heading to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit this weekend, still with a realistic chance of challenging for the title, and is also among the final 10 contenders for the Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award.

BRDC Rising Stars are viewed as the future of the club, and are effectively become junior members when they join the programme. Rising Stars inductees are scouted trackside by senior members of the BRDC, and benefit from the club’s support as they rise through the ranks towards top level motorsport.

Previous Rising Stars include Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, while fellow GB3 contenders McKenzy Cresswell and James Hedley are already part of the scheme, with Luke Browning and Matthew Rees recently joining the BRDC SuperStars ranks.

“I am delighted to announce that I have been selected to be a BRDC Rising Star” Voisin said. “The BRDC is a very prestigious organisation with a rich history so it is a huge honour to be a part of and I cannot wait to get started.”
