Douglas Motorsport’s Marcos Flack dominated a thrilling final race at Silverstone, as Roberto Faria and Joel Granfors enjoyed big gains from their starting positions to claim podiums. Here’s how each driver reacted afterwards.
Winner, Marcos Flack, Douglas Motorsport:
“It’s the first win of the season, and a first win in GB3, it feels amazing. We saved it for race three, we didn’t manage to put qualifying together but we saved our best for last and it paid off! We have high hopes in the team, Max [Esterson] is performing well and Tommy [Smith] did well at the last round and I’ve come away with a win here, so we’re looking up for the last rounds and hoping to end the year strong.”
Second, Roberto Faria, Carlin:
“The car was amazing, I had some great fights and the track was really tricky to drive, it was really slippery. It was a really fun race and nice to finish the weekend like this.
“Last week we were struggling a lot with speed, we’ve made some changes this week and improved a lot. The team has done a really good job with the car this week, it’s been amazing and in every race I’ve overtaken people. We were quick enough to improve in the races.”
Third, Joel Granfors, Fortec Motorsport:
“It was an awesome first lap, we just managed to find the gaps which was just incredible. And then I took it a bit slow to get past my teammate [Taylor] because you don’t want to crash with him. But then I finally got past and pulled a bit of a gap and my tyres were completely gone at the end. I think one more lap and I think Callum would have got me, but it was enough.
“I’m sure we can find a way to celebrate this weekend on the way to the airport I guess, maybe some loud music in the car!"
