2022 GB3 champion Luke Browning showed an impressive turn of speed during the post-season Abu Dhabi F1 test with Williams on Tuesday.
The British driver, who finished third in FIA F3 this year before a late season graduation to F2, enjoyed a full day's running at the wheel of the team's FW46, clocking up over 100 laps of the Yas Marina circuit.
Having enjoyed a first taste of the car in FP1 on Friday ahead of the season finale, Browning was able to up his pace on Tuesday and was the 11th quickest of 23 drivers who participated in the test, which mixed Pirelli tyre evaluations as well as the traditional end of year young driver test.
Of the 13 drivers in the test yet to race an F1 car, Browning was fifth fastest, and just eight tenths of a second away from the outright pace, set by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
"On Friday I had my first session in FP1 and it was a surreal experience to have my first feeling on a proper F1 weekend," Browning said. "Now I've completed a whole day of the young driver test and I've experienced the limits of the car. It was fantastic to be able to push it to the edge and the pace was good. A massive thank you to James [Vowles], Williams, everyone back at Grove, I'm living a dream here and I'm looking forward to hopefully driving the car again soon."
