Race winner Will Macintyre will return to Elite Motorsport in 2025 to contest his second season in the GB3 Championship.
The 17-year-old BRDC Rising Star finished fifth in the final GB3 Driver’s standings in only his second full single-seater campaign this year, having recorded three wins plus three further podium finishes.
Milton Keynes-based Macintyre made his Elite race debut in the 2021 Ginetta Junior Winter Series, going on to finish second overall and top Rookie in the Ginetta Junior Championship the following year, scoring six outright race wins and 18 Rookie victories in the 25-race series. Will also raced for Elite in the final round of the 2022 GB4 Championship, netting two second-place finishes on his single-seater debut.
He finished runner-up in the 2023 British F4 Championship, claiming two wins and 12 additional podium finishes, finishing just 13 points behind the eventual champion having kept the title battle alive all the way to the final race.
Macintyre began karting in 2017 and is the only Briton to have won the Italian Championship title in the 60 Mini category (2019). He was the IAME Nations Cup Champion and Vice Champion in the WSK Euro Series and finished third in the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy and the IAME Winter Cup in 2021.
Will Macintyre said: “My aim is obviously to win the Driver’s title. I enjoyed a pretty positive first year in GB3, showing very good pace and results as well as leading the series.
“I learnt a lot and overall, the season made me a faster and a more mature driver.
“I have a close relationship with everyone at Elite thanks to running with them earlier in my career and we enjoyed much success together.
“Ed and the guys have always been very welcoming while overall, it’s an incredibly nice environment for me to be in.
“I was very impressed with Elite’s performance this year and I’m really looking forward to hopefully continuing our previous success from Ginetta Juniors.”
Team Owner and Manager Eddie Ives said: “We are extremely happy to be announcing Will as our first 2025 GB3 driver.
“We have kept a great relationship with Will from when we ran him to the runners up spot in Ginetta Juniors in 2022.
“He is very fast, proven and talented driver which, combined with all our efforts we are putting into 2025, expect to be immediately fighting for wins from the opening event in April.”
