Nikita Johnson, McKenzy Cresswell and Patrick Heuzenroeder were the top three finishers in the final race of the weekend at Zandvoort. Here's how each driver reacted at the end of the contest.
Winner, Nikita Johnson, VRD Racing by Arden:
"Very good. It’s a reverse grid race but still happy with it. We had amazing pace all weekend and we missed out in qualifying but with the reverse grid we ended up second and I just got to first and ran away with it. We had a super-fast car and it was on rails. It’s always amazing to have [supporters and sponsors] and have people around me but my family is back in the States watching and to go win here is very great and special."
Second, McKenzy Cresswell, Elite Motorsport:
"It was okay. A really, really tricky race with the tyre deg. Everybody else was on brand new tyres either brand new lefts or a full set and I was on the same tyres I was on in race two so they’ve done two race starts and two full race distances. It was really tricky, I was just trying to eek them out as much as possible but the car allowed me to do that so I’m really happy."
Third, Patrick Heuzenroeder, JHR Developments:
"I got a really good start, got the lead into turn one and then probably just took the wrong defensive line into turn three and Nikita and I were side by side. It was exit kerb or third place so I took third place. And then McKenzy just got me up on the tun to turn seven. It was a hard race. I think we were going flat out the whole time – we had one lap of rest with the Safety Car and then back to it. I think there were three or four of us that were pretty close together. Great to get the Hard Rock Cocktails car on the podium because we’ve all been talking about it but nice to see it."
