Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Gerrard Xie was fastest in the final GB3 Championship test session of the week at Silverstone, though his session two lap of 1m53.501s wasn’t quite enough to usurp McKenzy Cresswell’s effort from session one.
Xie was 0.311s clear of the field in the second session, with Elite’s Cresswell second and JHR’s John Bennett third, and just 0.023s further back.
Elite’s Jarrod Waberski completed another strong day in fourth, setting exactly the same time as Bennett, and 0.070s clear of Hitech Pulse-Eight’s championship leader Tymek Kucharczyk.
The second Rodin Motorsport car of Arthur Rogeon completed the top-six, 0.002s clear of Nikita Johnson’s VRD Racing by Arden machine.
Fortec’s Edward Pearson was towards the sharp end again, and only just over half a second away from the session two pace. The British driver was a couple of tenths clear of VRD Racing by Arden’s Americans Shawn Rashid and Noah Ping, who completed a top-10, covered by 0.717s.
Cresswell’s 1m53.274s set this morning proved to be the fastest lap across the two days of running at Silverstone. He was a quarter of a second clear overall, with Xie’s session two time putting him second ahead of Rodin’s Louis Sharp in third, courtesy of his morning effort.
Bennett and Waberski were fourth and fifth with their session two laps, ahead of Elite’s Hugo Schwarze and Fortec’s Colin Queen, who set their best laps in session one.
Kucharczyk’s afternoon time put him eighth overall, ahead of Fortec’s returnee James Wharton and Rogeon, who were faster in session one. Under a second covered the top-16 drivers on the combined timesheets.
The field return to action with qualifying on the Grand Prix circuit tomorrow at 9am.
