Elite Motorsport's McKenzy Cresswell joined a gripping five way tussle for the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup, thanks to his first two poles of the year at Silverstone.
Cresswell was two tenths of a second faster than his nearest rival in Saturday's session, and backed up that performance by also leading the second fastest times sheet, earning both poles on offer at the home of the British Grand Prix.
That performance ensured Cresswell joined the wide open battle for this year's £2,000 prize and a trophy, with four other drivers currently in contention.
Title contenders Tymek Kucharczyk and John Bennett are the joint leaders with three poles each, while Louis Sharp and Gerrard Xie have two to their name.
With the standings so close, the battle to become the latest winner of the prize is set to go all the way to the Brands Hatch season finale at the end of September.
