Ugo Ugochukwu became the second GB3 graduate in as many years to win the legendary Macau Grand Prix, with a stunning performance last weekend.
The American driver, who competed in four GB3 events this year, was the driver to beat throughout the weekend in the Far East, setting the fastest time in qualifying on Friday to earn pole position for Saturday's qualifying race.
Despite multiple safety car periods and a red flag, Ugochukwu controlled the 10 lap race, to set himself up for Sunday's Grand Prix, where he'd again start from pole position.
With mixed weather conditions affecting the entire event, the 15-lap Grand Prix was no different, and although mainly dry, wet patches from earlier rain necessitated a safety car start.
Ugochukwu held his lead but a pile up at Lisboa ensured a red flag. With several cars out of the race, the race resumed behind the safety car and Ugochukwu led the pack away only for the race to be interrupted again by the safety car.
Further safety car appearances littered the race, but despite the lengthy run to the first real corner on each lap, Ugochukwu was able to withstand attacks from behind and when the race was again neutralised on the final lap, the race was his.
Ugochukwu follows in the footsteps of 2022 GB3 champion Luke Browning, who won last year's race, which was held for Formula 3 cars, with this year's edition catering for Formula Regional machinery.
Alex Dunne was the next-best placed GB3 graduate, rising from 12th on the grid to take sixth.
