2022 GB3 Champion Luke Browning and 2021 race winner Christian Mansell will both make their FIA Formula 2 debuts at Azerbaijan's Baku City Circuit this weekend.
Browning joins the ART Grand Prix team, having just concluded his sophomore FIA F3 campaign in which he finished third overall, having been in title contention all season. The Williams Academy-backed driver won twice this year, in addition to his Macau Grand Prix heroics at the end of 2023.
“I’m really grateful to have the opportunity to make the move up to Formula 2 for the final rounds of the season on the back of a successful season in Formula 3,” Luke said.
“Having finished third in the F3 standings this season, moving up to F2 in 2025 would be the logical next step in my career, and it will be great to gain experience of the car over the next three meetings as I work towards that goal.”
Mansell meanwhile steps up with Trident, having finished fifth in FIA F3 this year with five podium finishes.
“I can’t wait to make my FIA Formula 2 debut with Trident Motorsport,” he said. “I’m extremely happy to race with this Italian team on the Baku street circuit and in the next two events before the end of the season. It will be a fiery debut on a challenging track like the Azerbaijani one, but I must confess I’m more excited than nervous.”
