Louis Foster’s seventh win of the season ensured he claimed the 2024 Indy NXT title at Milwaukee last weekend, with a race to spare.
The 2020 BRDC British F3 race winner has dominated his sophomore campaign in the premier IndyCar feeder category, taking four more victories than any other driver, and has led the standings for the majority of the season.
Foster’s victory tally is the most in the series since 2021, and the championship title secures him an $850,000 prize to be applied to an IndyCar oval test at Texas Motor Speedway, the Indy 500 Open Test and Rookie Orientation Programme, an entry for the 2025 Indy 500 and an entry for an additional IndyCar event next year.
Needing to finish sixth or better to seal the title and the considerable prize package, Foster controlled the race from start to finish, leading all 90 laps at the one mile oval.
“It’s amazing,” said Foster said. “I’m just speechless. I’ve got to thank the team. They’ve been behind me the last two years. Massive thanks to everyone on the 26 crew, my sponsors. It’s been a crazy two years, and I’m super happy to cap it with a win.”
Fellow BRDC British F3 or GB3 graduates Jamie Chadwick, Bryce Aron and Jonathan Browne have also been competing in Indy NXT this year, with Chadwick currently the highest places of the three courtesy of a win and an additional podium, putting her sixth overall with an event at Nashville Superspeedway still to come.
