Title contender Bennett sets pace in Brands Hatch GB3 practice

28 September 2024

JHR Developments’ John Bennett set the pace in practice on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit this morning (Saturday).

The title contender put yesterday’s heavy shunt behind him to go top on his final lap, setting a 1m19.545s, just under a tenth of a second clear of Rodin’s championship leader Louis Sharp who had topped much of the session.

The top two were 0.204s clear of Elite Motorsport’s McKenzy Cresswell, who was five thousandths of a second ahead of Hitech Pulse-Eight’s championship hopeful Tymek Kucharczyk, with the Pole’s teammate Will Macintyre completing the top-five.

Elite’s Jarrod Waberski was next up, a tenth of a second quicker than the third Hitech of Gerrard Xie, with returning champion Callum Voisin eighth, ahead of Chris Dittmann Racing’s James Hedley, who was the final driver within a second of the outright pace.

Rodin’s Arthur Rogeon completed the top-10, ahead of reigning GB4 champion Tom Mills in 11th.

The field returns to action at 11.40 for the final qualifying session of the season.
