Sharp edges closer to GB3 title with fifth 2024 win in Brands Hatch race two

29 September 2024

Rodin Motorsport’s Louis Sharp edged closer to taking this year’s GB3 Championship title with his fifth win of the season in race two at Brands Hatch.

His latest victory puts him on the verge of the title heading into race three, but second place for John Bennett keeps the British driver in the fight heading to the final race.

Third place for Tymek Kucharczyk wasn’t enough to keep the Polish driver in contention.

Sharp made a great start from pole position to lead the field down to Paddock Hill Bend, and led home from there, despite an early safety car after a three car tangle at Druids.

Prime title rival Bennett followed him home throughout, and despite Sharp's decent restart after the safety car, closed the gap back down to finish within half a second at the flag.

Race one winner McKenzy Cresswell was fourth ahead of Elite teammate Jarrod Waberski while sixth for Arthur Rogeon strengthened Rodin's chances in the Team's Championship too.

VRD Racing by Arden's Noah Ping claimed seventh ahead of Elite's Hugo Schwarze, with Ping's teammate Nikita Johnson and Rodin's Callum Voisin completing the top-10.

The final race of the weekend is due to commence at 15.45.
