Hillspeed’s Freddie Slater set the pace on the final day of this week’s official GB3 Championship test at Donington Park.
The British driver recorded a best lap of 1m22.412s, less than a tenth shy of yesterday’s pace set by Patrick Heuzenroeder, with Slater’s day topper coming in the second session.
His lap, again underneath the qualifying record, put him just 0.057s clear of Rodin’s Alex Ninovic, who was quickest in the final session, but like Slater, set his day’s best in session two.
Having set the pace yesterday, Heuzenroeder was quickest in two sessions today, with his best time coming in session three putting him just 0.016s away from Ninovic and 0.015s ahead of Noah Lisle.
Hitech’s Deagen Fairclough was only 0.014s further back in fifth, and registered his best time in session one.
Will Macintyre was the lead Elite Motorsport runner in sixth, just over a quarter of a second away from Slater’s best, and ensuring that six different teams were represented inside the top-six. Macintyre was half a tenth ahead of the second Rodin car of Gianmarco Pradel.
Lucas Fluxa put his Argenti with Prema car eighth, 0.020s ahead of Fortec’s James Higgins, with Xcel’s Jack Sherwood completing the top-10 with his effort in the final test.
Less than half a second covered the top-10 drivers on the Thursday combined times, with 0.982s splitting the top-18 drivers.
Despite less track time than yesterday, the fleet of new Tatuus MSV GB3-025 cars again completed over 1,000 laps during the two hours’ running.
The field reconvenes at Silverstone next week for two more days of official running on Monday and . Tuesday.
