Front-running Formula Ford team Ammonite Motorsport will join the GB3 Championship from the 2024 season onwards with a two car line-up. The Northamptonshire-based squad has acquired a pair of Tatuus-MSV 022 cars, and has already commenced a comprehensive testing programme at the majority of circuits visited by the championship.

Headed up by Andy Low, the outfit is the successor to Cliff Dempsey Racing, and was established in 2020 as Low Dempsey Racing before taking on the Ammonite moniker in 2022. Low has more than a decade of motorsport experience, including roles with World Endurance Championship, Formula 3 and Superleague Formula machinery. Most recently he was part of the Multimatic Ford GT Factory programme, before leaving to establish his own squad.

Following the acquisition of the team, success has continued unabated with multiple triumphs in the National Formula Ford Championship and the major end of year Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy meetings, with 16 victories in total across all events last season.

"We are extremely thrilled at the opportunity to expand our team with our new GB3 programme. In the last 3 seasons, 15 drivers from Formula Ford, including 5 drivers from our FF1600 team, have progressed into the MSV paddock, so we’re really looking forward to being able to offer our drivers that next step.

"The grids in GB3 speak for themselves, they are strong, competitive and full of driven individuals. We have already done a chunk of testing this season with much more planned for the rest of the year, and it is going really well. We can’t wait to bring our GB3 cars to the grid next year and are really excited about our future with MSV."
