Fortec Motorsport has confirmed that American racer Colin Queen will remain with the team as he steps up to the GB3 Championship for the 2024 season.
The 18-year-old, who hails from South Florida, competed with the squad in this year’s GB4 Championship, standing on the podium in half of the races and finishing outside the top five on just four occasions.
Queen’s impressive GB4 campaign featured top-three finishes at six of the seven race meetings, as he finished fourth overall in the standings, taking a pole position and a fastest lap along the way.
Prior to that, he claimed the ‘Triple Crown’ in the National Formula Ford Championship and won the 2022 GB4 Shoot Out, using his £20,000 prize contribution from MotorSport Vision (MSV) to join Fortec for his third full season of car racing and first with slicks and wings. He also represented the USA at the 2018 CIK-FIA Academy Trophy in Europe.
Colin has the long-term goal of following Fortec Motorsport’s alumni Juan-Pablo Montoya, Pietro Fittipaldi, Ed Jones, and Indy 500 winners Will Power, Alex Rossi and Marcus Ericsson to the IndyCar Series, and has begun testing to adapt to the increased power, grip, and downforce of the GB3 machinery.
